VANS WARPED TOUR®--America’s premier music and lifestyle festival of the summer--is now on the road. The tour is well established breaking up-and-coming talent as well as both creating and showcasing major established artists. In 1995, concert production veteran Kevin Lyman founded the tour which first introduced music fans to artists such as No Doubt, Eminem, Katy Perry, Blink 182, Black Eyed Peas, Sublime and My Chemical Romance among hundreds of others that are now globally successful. The tour annually reaches more than 600,000 kids in over 40 cities in North America each summer and appeals to music fans and teens and older with a blend of punk, alternative rock, pop, metal, hip hop, hardcore, electronic, reggae, ska, and extreme sports. The tour has continually offered a low ticket price to watch over 80 bands in one day (since the start, tickets do not exceed $40.00) as well as a virtual village of fun lifestyle attractions including Vans® skating competitions (with national athletes and pre-qualified amateur skaters who both compete for prizes and the chance to be discovered as athletes), Reverse Daycare (where kids can check in on their parents in an air-conditioned lounge), Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands (a stage featuring both local artist contest winners and emerging national talent) as well as numerous charity and environmental booths which travel on the entire tour. The 41-date trek commences June 16 in Salt Lake City, UT and finishes August 5 in Portland, OR. The tour will hit a handful of new venue locations this year.

Continually innovative and forward-thinking--the tour was the first festival to have a Solar-powered stage and use Biodiesel fuel in trucks and generators on the road and still utilizes them--founder Kevin Lyman partnered with Klean Kanteen to provide unlimited FREE filtered-water refilling stations all summer long. Patrons can fill up any cup at the stainless-steel stations as much as they need throughout the day completely FREE. In addition, the tour worked with venues and promoters on every stop to lower the price of bottled-water to $3.00 across the board at ALL VANS WARPED TOUR shows this summer.

Phillip Phillips plays ‘The Stone’ by DMB on ‘American Idol’

To contact us Click HERE

Phillip Phillips covered “The Stone” by Dave Matthews Band on “American Idol” last night.

phillip phillipsPhillips is an unabashed DMB fan who draws regular comparisons to Dave Matthews and has advanced to the top six on “American Idol.” His performance of “The Stone” last night was the first time he had covered DMB on the show.

Here’s what the “American Idol” judges had to say about Phillip Phillips’ “The Stone” performance:

  • Steven Tyler: “Very entertaining. Very off the wall. What can I say about it? I didn’t like the melody.”
  • Jennifer Lopez: “It was a pretty song. It was just a little bit obscure and a little bit too artsy.”
  • Randy Jackson: “I was worried because it’s a Dave Matthews song, because people are always comparing you to Dave, but what you just did is, you showed your true colors once again.”

After the show, Stefan Lessard tweeted: “Good job on The Stone @PPhillipsAI11. You showed courage and heart and I thought @YO_RANDYJACKSON gave the best feedback. Well Done!” Phillips later replied: “thanks man i really appreciate that, i was nervous about it haha.”

Check out this video of Phillip Phillips’ “The Stone” performance from “American Idol”:

And here’s his studio version of “The Stone”:

We’ll find out if Phillip Phillips’ “The Stone” performance was enough for him to advance in the competition on tonight’s “American Idol” results show.
